The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body remains at the scene which is currently preserved.

ALERT: Gardaí launch investigation following discovery of man's body in Cork

The Coroner has been notified and a post mortem will take place in due course.

Gardaí in Cork City are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a male body at a residential property on Dominic Street.

The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident at approximately 1am in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, December, 8.
