A public appeal for help in locating 41-year-old Justin O’Connor was issued on Wednesday
Gardaí have stood down the search for a man who was last seen in County Kildare earlier this week, following the discovery of a body.
A public appeal for help in locating 41-year-old Justin O’Connor was issued on Wednesday - the day after he was last seen in the Celbridge area in the north of the county.
A number of searches were carried out in the locality but in an update, issued on Thursday night, gardai confirmed the searches have now been stood down.
"Following the discovery of a man’s body the missing person appeal for Justin O’Connor (41) who was reported missing from Celbridge, County Kildare since Tuesday, December 3, 2024, has been stood down," said a spokesperson.

No further information has been disclosed publicly.
Gardaí have thanked members of the public and the media for their assistance with the appeal.
