A major Irish supermarket with over 180 stores across Ireland is set to close up shop for three days over the Christmas season.
As shoppers brace themselves for the upcoming Christmas period, supermarkets and retailers across Ireland are gearing up for additional opening hours to accommodate their busiest time of the year.
Lidl Ireland has revealed its extended opening hours for what will be a busy festive season for the retail giant, confirming that their stores will be closing early on certain days and not opening at all on three key dates for shoppers.
The supermarket chain has confirmed that its stores will be closed on Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day.
It will also close stores at the earlier time of 6pm on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, giving workers extra time at home to enjoy the festivities during their busiest period of the year.
Stores will return to normal hours from Friday, December 27 until New Year's Eve. After their New Year's Day closure, stores will be back to regular hours from Thursday, January 2 forward.
The opening hours for each branch nationwide can vary, with customers urged to utilise the store's locator tool on its website to check times.
