Woman in critical condition following 'serious' two-car crash in Cork

A woman in her 30s has been hospitalised following a crash in Cork city earlier this Wednesday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision on the N28 in Cork city

Shortly after 10am this Wednesday, October 16, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the two-car collision on the N28 at Carrs Hill, Mount Oval.

The driver of one of the cars, a woman in her late 30s, was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where her condition is understood to be critical.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The scene has been technically examined and the road has fully reopened. All traffic diversions have now been lifted.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also requesting road users with camera footage, including dashcam video, from the area at the time of the collision to make it available to assist with their investigation.
