A disqualified motorist has been arrested after being caught driving while drugged.
According An Garda Síochána, the Kerry Roads Policing Unit were out along the Castleisland to Tralee road first thing this morning (July 24), and their automatic number-plate recognition system alerted them to the car which was being driven without insurance.
When they checked the driver's details on their mobility app they discovered that they were a disqualified driver.
They also had "reasonable suspicion" to conduct a roadside drug test and the driver tested positive for cocaine.
The car was seized and the driver arrested.
Back at the station a blood sample was also taken for further analysis and the person was charged with driving while disqualified.
