Child rushed to hospital after falling off moving bus on M50

A child has been treated for injuries after falling off a moving vehicle on the M50 motorway.

According to the Irish Mirror, the 12 year old schoolboy fell off the back of a bus on Wednesday (June 19) while using the toilet onboard.

He miraculously avoided being hit by oncoming traffic thanks in large part to an articulated lorry driver, who reportedly pulled his truck across part of the motorway to shield the boy and emergency services.

He was rushed to hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson of An Garda Síochána stated, "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic incident at Junction 9 of the M50 in Dublin on Wednesday, 19th June 2024.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.15am. A male child was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for injuries which are believed to be non life-threatening.

"Investigations are ongoing."
