 Mayo GAA star Oisín Mullin praised for cutting locks for charity

Former Mayo GAA star Oisín Mullin has chopped his locks to raise money for a respite centre for children with cancer. 

The Geelong Cats football player announced on his Instagram that he would be cutting his hair for the first time in four years to raise money for Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co Mayo.

The facility, currently under construction in the Mayo village, will be only the second Daisy Lodge in Ireland and will provided respite for children with cancer and their families.

The only Daisy Lodge facility in Ireland is based in Co Down and is operated by the Cancer Fund For Children charity. 

Each year, Cancer Fund for Children supports over 1,500 children and young people and 500 families impacted by cancer with therapeutic short breaks at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle.

Oisín, who now lives in Sydney with his content creator girlfriend Jess Diskin, cut his long locks Down Under.

He has received many positive comments under his post, one user said: "Looks great Oisin, congratulations on the new haircut."

Another user said: "So cool Oisín. Fundraising for a great cause too."

So far, Oisín has manged to raise nearly €8k, surpassing his goal of €3k.
