Two teens have been arrested following a collision with a Garda vehicle in Dundalk on Thursday.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána says they were alerted to an incident of dangerous driving in Dundalk yesterday afternoon, Thursday 11 April. A vehicle failed to stop when directed to do so by Gardaí on the N52 road, and a managed containment operation ensued.

The car collided with an official Garda vehicle in the course of this operation. The vehicle was brought to a stop on the N1 in the Aghnaskeagh area.

The occupants of the car, two male juveniles aged in their teens, were arrested by Gardaí following the containment operation and later released from Garda custody pending further investigation.

No Garda members received injuries. Gardaí say a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
