An Aer Lingus flight saw an emergency return to Dublin Airport on Sunday afternoon after pilots reported 'fumes' which they believed was from the engines.
According to Shaun's Aviation on X, flight EI166 was on its way from Dublin to London when the information was relayed to Air Traffic Control (ATC).
"After pilots reported “fumes”, on approach to Dublin, they informed ATC that they believed it was from the engines," a post shared on social media stated.
It is said that the crew members were taken to receive treatment at a nearby hospital.
A later statement by the 16-year-old aviation enthusiast added: "The crew of EI166 are receiving treatment in hospital following this incident, my best wishes go out to the crew."
Aer Lingus have been contacted for comment, but have not responded at the time of publication.
