TRIBUTES have been paid to a 10-year-old boy who passed away a day after his baby brother arrived into the world.
Dylan Charlie Coady Coleman passed away at Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin on Wednesday morning following a collision in County Clare on Sunday, his family have confirmed.
The little boy from Shannon was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick after the incident before being transferred to Dublin.
Dylan's parents Garry and Laura welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday at the Rotunda Hospital, which is close to Temple Street where Dylan was being cared for.
Baby Shane Coady Coleman has been given the middle name Dylan, after his big brother whom he got to meet before he passed away.
Dylan had a passion for sport and was an avid supporter of Liverpool FC, Shannon Town FC as well as Munster and Ireland Rugby.
Dylan's school, St Tolas NS in Shannon, paid tribute to the "much loved" fourth class student on their Facebook page.
"It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the tragic death of our beloved pupil Dylan Coady Coleman.
"Dylan is a much loved 4th class pupil in St Tolas N.S. His gorgeous smile and kind heart endeared him to everyone in our school community. He will be greatly missed .
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his mum Laura, dad Garry, little sister Zoe and new baby brother Shane. We are also thinking of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended family and his wide circle of friends, especially those here in St Tolas.
"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís".
Dylan was a member of Shannon Kickboxing Club. Vincent Howie from the club also sent their condolences to his family.
"The saddest news to hear the passing of young Dylan Coady Coleman who we were privileged to have had as part of our club in Shannon Kickboxing.
Such a lovely young boy we would like to offer our deepest condolences to Laura, Garry, Zoe, and all the extended families at this devastating time".
The 10-year-old also played for Shannon Town Utd AFC who said they were "heartbroken" to hear the news of Dylan's passing.
"We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the Coleman and Coady families at this time.
"Dylan has been with the club since he was four and was a member of our current U11 squad. He was a joy to be around and always had a great big smile on his face when he played.
"On behalf of his team-mates and coaches Pa, Kieran and Jason (who he never paid any attention to), we're all heartbroken. His infectious smile and energy will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Dylan. YNWA."
Dylan's funeral details will be announced at a later date.
