Train commuters facing delays after vehicle struck bridge

The incident happened earlier on Tuesday in Laytown and has delayed a number of Irish rail services

A number of train services are facing delays this evening after a vehicle struck a bridge in Laytown earlier on Tuesday evening. 

Services were suspended through Laytown earlier this evening, but trains are now running again behind schedule. 

The 17.00 Drogheda/Pearse was 45minutes late and was due to terminate in Connolly Station.

The 16.21 Pearse/Drogheda service was delayed by30mins while the 16.50 Connolly/Belfast train service was delayed by 20mins.

The 18.24 Pearse/Drogheda service was changed to commence from Connolly Station. 

No details were available on the vehicle which struck the bridge. 

Due to an earlier operational issue, the 16.55 Cork/Mallow service was cancelled, with customers advised to travel on the 17.25 Cork/Dublin service.
