Gardaí have arrested a man, 30s, and seized over €800k worth of cannabis as part of an intelligence-led operation.
The operation, targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime operating in the Dublin Metropolitan Region, took place on this Tuesday, February 13.
It was conducted by personnel attached to the Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
As a result of this operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 41.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €830,000, at a premises in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in South Dublin.
Investigations are ongoing.
