The 61-year-old man whose body was found in Cork today has been named locally as Michael Foley, whose younger brother was murdered in 2018.
Michael ‘Mickey’ Foley was found at a residence in Annville in Barrett’s Place, Macroom, Co Cork, at approximately 1pm today.
Mr Foley’s younger brother, Timmy, was murdered in 2018.
Timmy Foley was found by gardai in a pool of blood in a bungalow in Macroom, Co Cork. He was stabbed 28 times by his ex-wife, Rita O'Driscoll.
Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of Michael Foley’s body. They are awaiting a post-mortem examination.
“A post-mortem examination will be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation,” said a spokesperson for the gardai.
“The scene is currently preserved for a forensic and technical examination,” they added.
