Gardaí have arrested a motorist who tested positive for opiates and cocaine while driving.

Members of the Naas Roads Policing Unit spotted the vehicle on a routine patrol. Upon stopping the driver, standard field sobriety tests were conducted, revealing the presence of both opiates and cocaine in their system.

The driver also failed a breath test administered at the scene.

Gardaí also discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle despite being disqualified.

Following these findings, the driver was promptly arrested and taken into custody.

The arrested individual is now set to face legal proceedings. A garda spokesperson has said: "Court to follow".
