THERE have been tears of joy in the arrivals hall at Shannon Airport in County Clare this week as families celebrated the return of their loved ones to Ireland for Christmas.
People travelling from Perth, Chicago, London and all over the world were reunited with their families and friends just in time for the festive period.
Choirs and schoolchildren from Clare, Limerick and Tipperary have been performing at the airport since Wednesday to add to the festive atmosphere on what is one of the busiest weeks of the year.
Thank you to St Senan’s National School, Shannon, for spreading some Christmas joy in our Arrivals Hall this morning!

The halls of Shannon Airport have been decked and the airport terminal adorned with festive decorations, including a magnificent 12-foot tree in the arrivals hall and a life-size Santa sleigh for memorable photo opportunities.
Shannon Airport expects to cater for around 120,000 passengers over the Christmas and new year period.
