Top stars are expected to sing at the funeral Mass for Pogues singer Shane MacGowan
Some of the entertainment world's top performers are reported to have lined up to sing at the Requiem Mass for singer / songwriter Shane MacGowan, who passed away on November 30.
The musician's funeral Mass will take place in St Mary of the Rosary Church, Nenagh, today at 3.30pm.
Among those who are reported to take part in the singing during the ceremony are Nick Cave, Glen Hansard, Liam Ó Maonlaí and Sharon Shannon. It is also rumoured that Imelda May will sing during the service.
Among others expected to attend are Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.
President Michael D Higgins is due to attend the ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 3.30pm.
