Gardai are investigating after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at a house in Co Clare.
The pair, both aged in their 50s, were known to each other, gardai have said.
A post-mortem examination is set to be carried out.
On Thursday night, gardai said a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an Incident Room has been established at Ennis Garda Station.
They have also appealed to anyone who may have information to contact them at Ennis Garda Station on 065 684 8100 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
Earlier, a Garda spokesperson said officers are “investigating all the circumstances”.
“Gardai were called to the scene of the incident at a domestic residence in Killinaboy at approximately 2.30pm,” they said.
“The bodies of the deceased, a male and a female, remain at the scene.
“The scene is currently preserved pending an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.”
