SHOCK: Three people including a child die in three separate road collisions overnight

Three people including a child have died in three separate road collisions overnight. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to any of the collisions, which occurred in Co Donegal, Co Dublin and Co Kerry. 

The first fatal collision occurred in Bundoran, Co Donegal shortly after 9.20pm (September 23) whereby a 9-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. 

The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene. 

The second collision occurred in Lisselton, Co Kerry shortly after 2am this morning (September 24) involving a taxi and a pedestrian on the R553. 

The man in his 20s was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. 

His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry. 

The driver - a male in his 40s - did not require immediate medical treatment. 

The third collision involving a motorcycle and pedestrian occurred in Tallaght, Dublin 24 shortly before 2.45am at a roundabout on Whitestown Way.

The motorcyclist, a male in his early 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The pedestrian, a male also in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital. His injures are not life threatening.

The road is presently closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
