FLORENCE and the Machine and Underworld are among the first headline acts unveiled for the Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival.
In total some 36 acts were unveiled this Wednesday for the festival, which takes place from September 4-6 at Stradbally Hall, Co Laois.
Also included on an eclectic bill are Manic Street Preachers, Róisín Murphy, Tame Impala, Hot Chip, Belle & Sebastian, The War On Drugs, George Ezra, Future Islands, Jurassic 5, Chvrches, Ride, Jon Hopkins, Battles, My Morning Jacket, Jessie Ware, Django Django, Low, Pond, Tourist, Metz, Girl Band, Kwabs and more, with more acts to be announced “soon”.
Also returning to the rolling plains of Stradbally are the Theatre of Food - featuring TV chefs Paul Flynn, Neven MaGuire, Clodagh McKenna, Darina Allen, Catherine Fulvio, Gary O’Hanlon and Martin Shanahan - the Comedy Tent, Trenchtown, Mindfield, the Trailer Park stage, the Salty Dog stage, Casa Bacardi, the Red Bull Music Academy, Heineken Sound Atlas and Global Green.
Discounted tickets are already on sale for the event from Ticketmaster, with category A tickets - priced at €154.50 - and category B - €174.50 - on sale until March 8. They will increase to €194.50 after that point.
A Sunday day ticket is €90.
