Kingfishr on their perch, performing outside the London pub The Faltering Fullback I PICTURE: Casey King
INSTEAD of raising the roof with their as they usually do, Kingfishr took it a step further and sung from the roof of a famous Irish bar in London, owned and run by a Limerick family.
The popular band played their hits at the Faltering Fullback Irish pub earlier this week on Tuesday, August 26, with the pub temporarily rebranding as The Kingfishr for the occasion.
They took to the roof of the pub to perform songs such as Shot in the Dark, Diamonds & Roses and, of course, the iconic Killeagh, as crowds gathered outside the venue on the street.
Videos of their performance will likely make fans of fellow Irish band U2 recall their famous Where The Streets Have No Name music video, in which they also sung from the roof of a building.
In a post on Instagram, with pictures taken by Casey King, Kingfishr said: “Big massive shout out to Patrick and the rest of the @thefalteringfullback crew for letting us take over and rebrand the pub.
“Felt like a college house session, total chaos, everyone up for the craic :) and sound to the neighbours for not calling the guards!”
The band added that they will be playing more record store shows “over the next little while” and thanked everyone that has bought and streamed their new album, Halcyon, saying that the response has been “immense”.
The iconic London venue also posted about the event on Instagram, saying: “What an honour to host @kingfishrofficial. What a truly special night it was! Thank you to everyone who joined us”
The Faltering Fullback, located on Perth Road, London, is owned and run by the Fitzsimons family from Foynes, Limerick.
The family also own Skehans pub in London, and owned The Shannon House in Foynes before their move to London in 1993.
The Limerick connection was woven throughout the event, as the members of Kingfishr, Eddie Keogh, Eoghan 'McGoo' McGrath and Eoin 'Fitz' Fitzibbon, first met while studying in the University of Limerick.

This wasn’t the band’s first time performing at the Fullback, as they played an ‘“impromptu” gig at the pub last September.
The group performed in Limerick just last week on Friday, August 22, as part of the 2025 Live at the Docklands festival.
They called their performance “Our biggest ever hometown show (though we’re technically blow-ins)”.
With Limerick people behind the bar and on the stage, it made sense that there were many in the crowd, with one group, pictured below by Mal Keaveney, from Askeaton/Foynes/Tournafulla “on tour” in London.
Evan O'Donoghue of Kilcornan and proprietor Michael Fitzsimons also met at the performance.
Lucky Limerick natives Laoise Curtin, Tournafulla and Isabelle Condon, Newcastle West, alongside pub owner Michael Fitzsimons, Foynes, snapped a pic with lead singer Eddie Keogh at the memorable event.
Kingfishr released their first studio album, Halcyon, on Friday, August 22, on all major streaming platforms.
