THE official launch of the Kasbah Social Club - Limerick’s latest live music venue - takes place this Saturday night.
The Booka Brass Band are on hand to supply the soundtrack for the venue’s launch, with a free gig on offer.
The Kasbah, formerly Clem Smith’s, has been taken under the Dolan’s umbrella, with our old pal Seado Shows on booking duties, and has quickly become a fixture on the music scene, with some tremendous low-key summer gigs.
All that is to change, with a heady line-up of gigs booked for September and beyond - including Girl Band and Squarehead this month.
First up is the New Orleans style eight-piece brass band - a group of eight musicians that span the length and breadth of Ireland stretching from Belfast all the way to Cork.
Formed in November 2012, since then they have quickly gone from strength to strength on the live music scene in Ireland, offering an incredible live energy that has seen them billed as among Ireland’s best live bands.
