JAMES Vincent McMorrow has announced details of an Irish tour in 2014, with a date in the University Concert Hall.
The haunting Irish songsmith will bring his show to the UCH on February 1, mere days after the release of his much anticipated second album Post Tropical in January.
The short, homecoming tour of Ireland - just five dates - will follow a date at the Barbican in London, an indication of the diminutive McMorrow’s stature in the music world.
His acclaimed debut Early in the Morning went to number one in 2010 upon its release, picking up a slew of critical plaudits and award nominations along the way.
The follow-up was recorded “on a pecan farm half a mile from the Mexican border”, according to the accompanying press material, and is shaping up to be one of the major Irish releases of next year.
Tickets for the UCH gig go on sale this Friday at 9am from Ticketmaster.
