FOR THE fourth year running Kilteely church will be alive to the sound of music this Sunday, November 24 from 7.30pm.
It was the idea of Gerry O’Carroll to banish the recessionary blues and celebrate the musical talent that is in the parish.
Called a celebration of sacred song and music for the community, the Church of St Patrick & St Brigid has been packed to the rafters each year.
Mr O’Carroll organises the event with parish priest Fr Conor Hayes and a group of helpers.
One of those is Valerie Greene who says the night will consist of “respectful light-hearted sing-along entertainment”.
“It has gone from strength to strength and this will definitely be a night to remember. Sunday will feature the CJ Kickham Brass and Reed Band conducted by Denis Lynch with special guest Derek Ryan,” said Valerie.
Kilteely parish choir and the school choirs of Cloverfield and Kilteely National Schools will also be in fine voice.
“People come from near and far to Kilteely for this wonderful occasion and we hope again this year to see all our friends from the parish and neighbouring ones,” said Valerie.
All are welcome but music lovers are advised to arrive early to ensure they get a seat for the concert that is expected to last two hours.
