NOT that Munster Rugby's women's side needed anymore motivation for today's interpro final against Leinster at the Kingspan Stadium, Belfast at 4:15pm, but head coach Fiona Hayes has stated that this might be the end of some of the Munster player's careers, making the game even more important.
Speaking during the Munster Rugby press conference during the week the women's head coach went on to say: "I can imagine that a few of the girls will hang up their boots after the final against Leinster and another huge loss to the club is Dorothy Wall who moves to Exeter Chiefs after this inter-pro's as well so it's a huge season for these players who are dying to end their Munster career on a win.
Dorothy has been such a servant to the Munster jersey and especially against Leinster two weeks ago I thought she was incredibly physically and brought so much to the game. She lives and breaths Munster so to win an interpro and send her off in style is something we are dying to do."
Munster have already beaten Leinster in this year's interpro series giving the side even more confidence going into the final in Belfast.
Hayes touched on the immense talent Leinster possess in their squad but admitted that the win two weeks ago is a huge help to her side.
"I suppose looking back at last year's final we didn't have that win under our belt and this year we do so it gives our younger players that belief to see that they are capable of beating Leinster. Every game is totally different and we know the Leinster team are going to give us some battle for the title but we are definitely up for it and we are eager to get that trophy back to Munster."
This afternoon's game will be shown live on TG4 from 4pm.
