Big guns return to Munster Rugby team for URC trip to Scarlets

MUNSTER have named a strong team for their United Rugby Championship (URC) fixture with the Scarlets in Llanelli on Friday evening.

Returning to the starting lineup from long term injury are Mike Haley and RG Snyman, while Conor Murray, Jeremy Loughman and Oli Jager come back in from Ireland's Six Nations camp. Thomas Ahern also comes back in after following return to play protocols.

Haley comes in at full back with Shane Daly and Sean O'Brien on the wings. Antoine Frisch and Alex Nankivell are named at centre, with Murray joining Joey Carbery in the half back positions.

Loughman and Jager pack down either side of Niall Scannell with Snyman partnering Ahern at second row. Ruadhan Quinn, Alex Kendellan and Gavin Coombes are in the back row. Kendellan skippers the side from openside flanker.

The full squad for the game, which has a 7.35pm start (live on TG4) is as follows:

Munster: Mike Haley; Seán O’Brien, Antoine Frisch, Alex Nankivell; Shane Daly; Joey Carbery, Conor Murray; Jeremy Loughman, Niall Scannell, Oli Jager; Tom Ahern, RG Snyman; Ruadhán Quinn, Alex Kendellen, Gavin Coombes.

Replacements: Eoghan Clarke, Josh Wycherley, John Ryan, Fineen Wycherley, Jack O’Sullivan, Ethan Coughlan, Rory Scannell, Shay McCarthy.
