DELAYS are expected through the County Limerick village of Ballyneety (R512) this Monday afternoon from 2pm as the remains of Dolores O'Riordan repose at Cross' Funeral Home, according to gardai.

A large crowd is expected to attend and a traffic management plan will come to effect from 2pm today, gardai said.

Motorists are advised to expect long delays on the R512 in the vicinity of Ballyneety Village and should use an alternative route if possible.

Outbound traffic on the R512 from Limerick City will be diverted onto the N24 Tipperary Road at The Four Elms Bar. Inbound traffic from Kilmallock and Bruff to Limerick City will be diverted to the R511 Fedamore Road at The Hunting Lodge Bar. All diversions will be signposted.

Funeral parking will not be permitted at Ballyneety Village but those attending will be permitted to park on approach roads to the village.

A one-way system will operate on the approach road to St. Ailbe’s Church, Ballybricken, on Monday evening and from 9am Tuesday for the Requiem Mass.

Parking is available on approach routes to the village. Those not attending should use an alternative route.

Dolores' remains will repose at Cross' Funeral Home, Ballyneety, this Monday from 4pm followed by removal at 8pm to St Ailbes' Church, Ballybricken. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11.30am followed by private family burial.
