LIMERICK City and County Council has confirmed that the Knockalisheen Road will be closed for seven months to facilitate the next phase of the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Distributor Road project.
The closure will affect the stretch from the newly constructed Knockalisheen Roundabout to the junction at Moyross Avenue, from Friday, November 28, 2025, until Monday, June 29, 2026.

The Council says the works are essential to advance the long-awaited project, which aims to improve access and traffic flow between Moyross, Coonagh and the wider city network.
Local access for residents will be maintained throughout the closure, and the Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused during the seven-month period.
