The new charging points are expected to be live and operational over the next six months
Eight new electric vehicle charging points are to be installed at an array of locations across Limerick over the next six months.
The new additions will be part of EV pilot sites project conducted by Weev Limited after Limerick City and County Council appointed them as the operator for the contract in Q2 of this year.
The eight new fast charging points will be located in O’Callaghan Strand, Merchant’s Quay, Mungret Park, Dooradoyle County Buildings, Patrickswell, Newcastle West, Dromcolliher and Castletroy Park.
These will join the previously announced sites in east Limerick which included Kilmallock, Doon, Bruff and Caherconlish taking the total number of sites for the pilot project to twelve around the county as the popularity of electric vehicles continue to increase.

The contractor, Weev Limited will shortly complete the installation, testing and commissioning of the 100KW fast chargers which can then be implemented between now and the end of March 2026 subject to the completion of ESB connections.
