A SECOND multiple-vehicle collision has occurred on the outskirts of Limerick city in two days, reports Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
The incident involving four vehicles occurred at around 8.30am on the M7 between J29 (N24) Ballysimon and J28 Castletroy. It is affecting traffic heading towards Dublin with drivers at a standstill for over 20 minutes.

The extent of injuries suffered by occupants of the vehicles, if any, is not known at this time.
A garda spokesperson said gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a four-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the M7 road near Junction 28.
"The road remains open at this time. As this is an ongoing incident no further information is available at this time," said a garda spokesperson.
A TII spokesperson said delays to your journey will occur.
“Consider a different journey route or start time. When approaching the collision location, drive with caution, reduce your speed and obey instructions from emergency services,” said the spokesperson.
