Driver arrested following single-vehicle collision in Limerick

Gardai arrested the driver of the vehicle following the collision

A DRIVER was arrested after a road traffic collision in County Limerick on Tuesday night.

The single vehicle road traffic collision occurred at 8.50pm on the R512 at Cullamus which is between Kilmallock and Bruff.

Gardai and emergency services responded to the incident.

A garda spokesperson confirmed no injuries have been reported. It is not known how many people were in the vehicle.

The driver was arrested at the scene.

“The driver, a male aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant.

“He has since been charged and is expected to appear before Kilmallock District Court at a later date,” said a garda spokesperson.

The section of road was closed for a period for the removal of the vehicle. It has since reopened.
