GARDAI have given motorists a fair warning about when a new speed camera will go live.

It is located on the N69 on a stretch of road on the Limerick side of Askeaton.

A garda spokesperson said: "The static speed safety camera in place on the N69 Ballyhomin, Askeaton, County Limerick will commence operation from Friday, March  14, 2025."
 
Vehicles detected driving in excess of the 100km/h posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution from noon on Friday, March 14, 2025.

"Prosecution of speeding offences takes place by fixed charge notice. The current fixed charge notice is a €160 fine accompanied by three penalty points. Further details of the fixed charge notice system are published on the garda website," said the garda spokesperson.
