Limerick motorists advised of overnight road and tunnel closures for March

NOTICE has been given for overnight road closures to facilitate upgrades to the Limerick tunnel electronic signage on the N18.

The tunnel and road will be fully closed between N18 Junctions two and four in one direction, every Monday night to Thursday night with diversions in place for the month of March.

Works will take place between 8pm and 6am each night. Traffic in the opposite direction will not be affected.

Beginning on March 3, the N18 Southbound will be closed at Junction four (Cratloemoyle) with traffic diverted to Dock Road via R445, R527 and R510.

A change has been made to the schedule, whereby on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 4 and 5, a single-lane contra-flow (opposite direction) in the tunnel will be in operation from 7.30pm to 6am. 

Vehicles with abnormal loads will be restricted from using the tunnel at this time. 

The Clonmacken link road southbound (towards tunnel) will also be closed overnight on Wednesday, March 5.

Southbound Diversion:

From the week commencing March 10 to 13, from 8pm until 6am, the N18 Southbound will be closed at Junction 4 (Cratloemoyle). All southbound traffic diverted to N18 Junction 2 (Dock Road) via R445, R527 and R510.

On alternating days, from March 18 to March 27, the N18 Northbound will be closed at Junction 2, Dock Road, with traffic diverted to Junction four (Cratloemoyle) via R510, R527 and R445.
