GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating a hit-and-run incident which left a pedestrian hospitalised. 

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the R464, near Parteen, Co Clare, on the evening of Sunday, January 12.

"The vehicle, which is believed to be a small type of car, was travelling from Parteen towards Limerick and failed to remain at
the scene of the incident," said Sgt Michelle O'Halloran, crime prevention officer based in Henry St.

"It is believed that there may also be some damage to the vehicle involved. The pedestrian received medical treatment and is
thankfully alright and on the road to recovery."

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any vehicles acting suspiciously in the Parteen to Limerick area on Sunday evening at around 6:30pm to contact Mayorstone Garda Station on 061 456980 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
