Traffic backed up at the scene of the incident this Wedneday evening
A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a road collision on the Limerick to Shannon road this Wednesday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident which occurred near Cratloe.
"The collision involving a car and a truck occurred on the N18 at Portdrine at approximately 6:00pm," said a garda spokesperson.

"A female was conveyed to hospital as a precaution," they added.
With temperatures reaching well below freezing this Wednesday night, motorists are being advised to exercise extreme caution not only in places where there has been heavy snowfall in recent days, but on all roads.
