GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in county Clare this Sunday.
The collision at Kilmurry McMahon, Kilrush, was reported earlier this morning.
A garda spokesperson said the male driver of the car, aged in his 30s, was fatally injured.
"The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.
"The road remains closed while a technical examination is being carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place," said the garda spokesperson.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 3am and 7am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kilrush garda atation on 065 908 0550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station," said the garda spokesperson.
