A learner driver who was travelling at 107km/h in a 60km/h zone has had their car seized.

Gardaí caught the driver travelling nearly twice the speed limit in Santry, Dublin, on Easter Saturday.

They seized the car and the unaccompanied learner driver was fined.

This is just one of many offences which happened over the Easter long weekend, as part of gardaí's Easter weekend road safety campaign.

"Bet they didn’t bank on that kind of Easter surprise", the social media post reads on @GardaTraffic on X (formerly Twitter).
