School kids get set to check seatbelts of motorists this weekend

Gardaí have came up with a catchy tune to teach to school children, ahead of the weekend where they will be out in force checking motorists are wearing their seatbelts.

Coined as 'seatbelt sheriffs', senior infant pupils in Mrs Dennehy’s class in Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh, Tralee, Co Kerry had a visit from a local garda to sing with them as they came up with a musical motto to remind them to wear their seatbelts.

Garda Mary Gardiner made a surprise visit to the school and had a very important task at hand - informing and getting the kids prepared for their busy weekend of garda duties!

Watch out for seatbelt sheriffs over the weekend in Kerry!
