Men to appear before special court sitting in Limerick over suspected frauds

TWO MEN are to appear before a special sitting of Newcastle West Court this Sunday afternoon in relation to alleged fraud offences.

A garda spokesperson said two men, aged in their 50s and 20s, were arrested on Friday "as part of ongoing investigations into multiple incidents of suspected fraud nationwide".

"The incidents occurred at retail premises specialising in building materials between January and March 2023," said the garda spokesperson.

The arrested men were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at a garda station in Co Tipperary and have since been charged.

"Both men are due to appear before a special sitting of Newcastle West District Court this Sunday," said a garda spokesperson.
