TO celebrate the release of the new DVD charting Munster’s Magners League victory last season, Johne Murphy, Wian Du Preez and Declan Cusack will be in HMV Cruises Street Limerick this Saturday at 12pm to sign copies of the two-disc DVD, ‘Munster Magners League Champions 2011’.
The DVD, released this Friday, captures how Munster scaled twin peaks in the 2010-2011 seasons by first defeating the touring Australians in a thrilling November clash and the triumphant showdown with arch rivals Leinster at the Magners league final earlier this summer in Thomond Park.
The Magners League victory was Munster’s second in three seasons, their third in total. In the run up to the final the team won all but three matches seeing them end the league phase 13 points clear of their nearest rivals. They then faced title holders Ospreys at home in the semi-final, the hard fought 18-11 win earning them a home final date against Leinster.
Finding themselves in the unusual position of underdog against the newly crowned Heineken Cup champions, Munster went behind at the close of the third quarter but rallied superbly to triumph at the end of what was a pulsating game of rugby, in front of a packed house. All of this and more are available on the two-disc DVD set.
HMV Cruises Street manager Chris Keena said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the victorious Munster team members to the store. Fans will have the opportunity to get a signed copy of the DVD from the champions. We expect massive interest; we advise fans to pop into the store early to get ahead of the crowds as they will only be with us for an hour.”
The Limerick Leader has a signed jersey and 5 pairs of tickets for the pre-season match against London Irish in Thomond Park on August 26 to give away. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact details and ‘Munster giveaway’ in the subject line.
The competition closes on Sunday evening and winners will be notified on Monday, August 8.
