THE Gardai and Limerick Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire last night in an alley-way just off Parnell Street.

Two cars and a van were destroyed because of the blaze, which broke out just before 9pm.

Firemen using breathing apparatus attended the scene, and put out the fire a short time later.

It was personnel from the Shannon Fire Service who put out the fire, because staff in Limerick were busy at a house fire elsewhere in the city.

No injuries have been reported.
