A MAN who is accused of multiple counts of indecently assaulting a young boy more than 30 years ago is to face trial on indictment.

A MAN who is accused of multiple counts of indecently assaulting a young boy more than 30 years ago is to face trial on indictment.

The 60-year-old, who has an address in the city, faces a total of 13 charges relating to offences which allegedly happened at locations in Limerick city and County Kerry on dates during 1979, 1980 and 1981.

The victim was aged seven when the first of the alleged offences took place.

Detective Garda Paul Crowley told Limerick District Court, the defendant made no reply when he was formally charged last Friday morning at Roxboro Road garda station.

Judge Marian O’Leary granted an application to adjourn the case to April to facilitate the preparation of a book of evidence.
