A LIMERICK woman who is accused of impeding a murder investigation is due to go on trial at the Central Criminal Court later today.
Mary Moloney, aged 45, of South Claughaun Road, Garryowen is accused of impeding the investigation into the death of Noel Crawford on December 18, 2006 - the same day the father-of-six was shot outside a house in O’Malley Park Southill while celebrating his 40th birthday.
It is alleged she committed the offence by falsely telling gardai a suspect in the murder investigation was at her home when the shooting took place.
The trial, which is expected to last around two weeks, will be heard before Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy and a jury.
Ms Moloney has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
