County Limerick man admits having drugs

A CRECORA man has pleaded guilty to posession of cannabis more than €300,000 for the purpose of sale or supply.

A CRECORA man has pleaded guilty to posession of cannabis more than €300,000 for the purpose of sale or supply.

Shane Mangan pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs on November 7 last year.

It is alleged that 25 kilogrammes of cannabis were found concealed behind panelling in the back of a van that the 49-year-old was driving when the vehicle was stopped and searched in Ballyclough. It is believed he was returning to Limerick from Continental Europe when he was stopped.

The father-of-three, who is originally from Suncrest, Crecora, also pleaded guilty to possession of a false driving licence which it’s alleged he used to travel to Europe.

Shane Mangan will be sentenced on May 27 next.
