A FESTIVE light parade along the River Shannon will now not take place this weekend due to adverse weather conditions.
It comes with heavy rain forecast through Saturday evening, leading organiser, Cllr Ursula Gavan to make the early call to put the event on ice.
She hopes a similar event will run in the New Year, however.

The event was set to take place from outside St Michael's Rowing Club in the city centre from around 5pm this Saturday.
Two 40-foot long Limerick Dragonboats will lead the flotilla, joined by Shannon Dragons and a number of clubs, including the Limerick Kayaking Academy, the Treaty Suicide Boat, Limerick Narwhals and others.
The procession was to go all the way up to JJ Bowles pub at Thomondgate and return back via the Three Bridges.
