Cllr Stephen Keary and Cllr Ger Ward agree to support local projects including community groups and road maintenance
THREE local initiatives within the Adare - Rathkeale Municipal District have received fresh support through the latest round of General Municipal Allocation (GMA) funding, following decisions made at the November district meeting.
Cllr Ger Ward, cathaloirleach of the Adare - Rathkeale Municipal District, confirmed an allocation of €2,000 for the Kilcornan Active Group, a long-established community organisation that provides social, recreational and wellbeing activities for residents of all ages. The funding will assist the group in continuing its year-round programme.
Cllr Ward also directed a further €3,500 towards road maintenance within the Adare–Rathkeale area. This contribution aims to support ongoing minor works, improve safety on local routes and assist the council in addressing maintenance needs that regularly arise across the district’s rural and village roads.
In addition, Cllr Stephen Keary allocated €2,000 for road maintenance purposes within the same district adding to the funding which is available for repairs and small-scale improvements.
