Craig Casey at the launch of the annual fundraising event
MID-WEST Simon Community has announced that its annual fundraising ball will take place this October.
Launching the ball for the charity was Craig Casey, Mid-West Simon Community ambassador: “At the minute, homeless figures are at record high levels, increasing the demand for our services. The Mid-West Simon Ball is always key to the charity to help raise funds for these services.
“I’m really proud to be involved in a charity that does such good work around my local city and beyond and urge people to help out in any way possible,” he continued.

For the second year in a row, the ball will focus on raising funds for the Mid-West Simon Social Grocery, a project designed to combat food poverty in Limerick city.
It will be the first of its kind in the country.
With help from a “generous donation” from the JP McManus Pro Am, the building for the social grocery has been purchased.
The charity is now looking to raise vital funds for the renovation of this premises.
The ball will take place on Saturday, October 11, at 6.30pm in the Limerick Strand Hotel.
