PLANNING permission has been granted for a new bed and sofa superstore in the city’s suburbs.
Dreams and Sofatime is set to open in a unit at Parkway Retail Park in Dublin Road which up to last year was occupied by Carpetright.
It comes after council planners cleared the way for a major redesign of the unit, which is located next to Curry’s PC World.
Targeted Investment Opportunities Icav, which is responsible for projects across Ireland, has secured permission to add a second level to the unit to allow for additional trading floor space, as well as new signage and other site works needed to facilitate the development.
Supporting documents presented to local planners revealed the proposed tenant is Hometime Retail Ltd.

This trades as Dreams and Sofatime, with its proposed new unit in the retail park co-branded in this manner.
Sofatime is an Irish sofa brand which trades from seven sites across Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down and Tyrone.
Sofatime would be located on the mezzanine floor, while bed specialist Dreams is projected to take space on the unit’s ground floor.
