Limerick businessman sets up recycling loan

Businessman Vincent Jennings, CEO of CSNA

A NEW SCHEME, which helps Ireland achieve EU recycling targets, has been set up via collaboration with one Limerick businessman.

Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association (CSNA) CEO, Vincent Jennings, is from Limerick. His association have now joined forces with Dubco Ireland Credit Union, to launch Re-turn: Ireland's new national Deposit Return Scheme.

Of the two billion bottles and cans consumed in Ireland annually, 30%+ are not recycled. The aim of the Re-turn scheme is to combat this issue, with Dubco financing the scheme's rollout through a ‘green business loan’.

The loans are available to all CSNA members, with the scheme expected to go live in February 2024.

All retailers must register for the scheme. It has an interest rate of 5.61% APR* and flexible repayment terms.
