A YOUNG man is due to sentenced in December after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of a father-of-one in Castleconnell more than two years ago.
Tom O’Shea, who had just turned 40, died after he was knocked down as he got into a car at Main Street, Castleconnell in the early hours of September 6, 2009.
At Limerick Circuit Court on Tuesday, Noel Quinlivan, 23, of St Patrick’s Villas, Castleconnell pleaded guilty to causing the death of Mr O’Shea.
After he entered his plea, Anthony Sammon SC, representing Mr Quinlivan, said his client suffers from some “medical difficulties” and he requested an adjournment of the case.
John O’Sullivan BL, prosecuting, did not oppose the application but he told the court the family of Mr O’Shea were “anxious to have the matter disposed of as soon as possible.”
Judge Carroll Moran adjourned the case until December 14 next when he will impose sentence.
