Woodie’s Limerick colleagues pictured with a cheque for €8,215
GENEROUS staff, customers and suppliers of a Limerick store have helped raise more than €8,000 for two worthy causes.
Workers at DIY store Woodie’s, which is based at Ennis Road on the city’s northside, joined in the company’s wider Heroes campaign.
This year, funds from this were divided equally between ISPCC Childline, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Down Syndrone Ireland and Make a Wish.
And Limerick’s store staff more than played their part raising €8,215 for these charities. This came with help from customers and suppliers.
Woodie’s Heroes was established in 2015 and has raised more than €3m for Irish children’s charities.
Across Woodie’s branches nationwide, this year’s fundraising is expected to see that figure grow closer to €3.5 million.
Customers donated throughout the campaign by adding a donation in-store at the till, online at woodies.ie or by text.
The team at Woodie’s Limerick said they were overjoyed by the generosity and support shown to them during the campaign by their local community.
They extended a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated.
“After four weeks of fundraising, it was a proud moment for the colleagues in-store when they presented the cheque for €8,215. The money raised will make a meaningful difference to the children and families who are supported by these four amazing charities,” a store spokesperson said.
Woodie’s DIY has 35 branches across the Ireland. Its Limerick outlet is located at Ennis Road retail park, adjacent to Jetland Shopping Centre.
